The Pioneer is the student newspaper for the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art first printed in 1921. Print copies are available in the newsstands located in both 41 Cooper Square and The Foundation Building

The Pioneer strives to provide a neutral, transparent, and accurate record of the news in our community. If you notice an error, please inform us at cooperpioneer@gmail.com with “Corrections” as the subject. Please include the title of the article, the volume number, and the issue number.


Op-Eds

The Pioneer welcomes Op-Eds from current students, alumni, faculty, and staff.

Email cooperpioneer@gmail.com with the Op-Ed attached as a word or text document and “Op-Ed” as the subject. Please include a cell-phone number (not published). Students and alumni should also include school/major and class year for publication.

Op-Eds should be roughly 600 to 900 words. The Pioneer will work with the author if grammar, length, or other adjustments are necessary. Any conflicts of interest must be disclosed prior to to publication.


Letters to the Editor

The Pioneer welcomes Letters to the Editor from individuals affiliated the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Art and Science. All letters must be signed and conflicts of interest must be disclosed prior to to publication.

Email cooperpioneer@gmail.com with the letter attached as a word or text document and “Letters to the Editor” as the subject. Please include a cell-phone number (not published). Students and alumni should also include school/major and class year for publication.

Letters should be roughly 300 to 500 words. The Cooper Pioneer will work with the author if grammar, length, or other adjustments are necessary.
